As a member of the Public Works Management Team reporting to the Public Works Manager, the Utilities and Drainage Superintendent is responsible for directing and coordinating the municipal drainage program as Drainage Superintendent. Responsibilities also include assisting the Public Works Manager with residential and commercial development proposals and assisting OCWA, Ontario Clean Water Agency with the operation of water, storm and sanitary sewer systems. This position also backfills for the Public Works Manager during absences, and assists the Public Works Manager with day-to-day transportation activities.
The successful candidate will have appropriate post-secondary education in a related field, and at least five years’ experience guiding drainage and utility operations. The successful candidate will provide advice to Council through written reports and be a key member of the Municipality’s asset management team.
Project planning and management will be a key skill for the position, as will be providing guidance and oversight to operations staff, contractors, and consultants. An accomplished verbal communicator, the Manager must have a commitment to excellent customer service.
