The Township is currently seeking an experienced professional, with the knowledge, skills and abilities to lead the day-to-day operations of the Finance Department in the full-time position of Supervisor, Finance/Asset & Risk Management.  

The Supervisor, Finance/Asset & Risk Management shall be responsible for the daily management, supervision and direction of the Finance Division ensuring excellent customer service is maintained at all times.  The successful applicant will lead the development of the Township’s Asset Management Policy & Plans, oversee corporate grant funding, coordinate multi-year capital plans and forecasts, maintain the Township’s long-term reserves and coordinate risk management functions.  In addition, duties include participation in the implementation of the Township’s new ERP software system; month, quarter and year-end financial reporting and analysis and performance of backup duties as required for the Township’s Property Tax Collector.  

The applicant must have a thorough knowledge of management accounting and controls, hold a degree in Accounting or Business Administration, an Accounting Designation CPA (CA, CGA or CMA) and have at least five (5) years’ progressively responsible financial experience in the municipal sector.  The position requires the incumbent to have a sound knowledge of risk and asset management practices; legislation and regulations pertinent to the finance function, as well as policies and legislation affecting municipal government.  The position requires strong management and supervisory skills within a unionized environment, public relations, record keeping, problem solving, report writing, project/time management, analytical skills, advanced Excel experience, oral and written communication skills, and shall exhibit excellent interpersonal skills.  

In addition, the successful applicant must have the ability to think and act appropriately in a political and community service environment and to deal courteously and effectively with elected officials, the general public, residents, staff, other departmental, corporate contacts, businesses and other levels of government. 

Management position offers a salary commensurate with experience and education (2020 salary range $75,692 – $91,970), plus a competitive and attractive benefit package.  Applications will be accepted until 12:00 noon Friday, February 7th, 2020.
