The City of Quinte West is a vibrant rural/urban community with over 43,000 people located in Eastern Ontario. Set in a picturesque natural setting, Quinte West is known for being home to Canadian Forces Base Trenton and is now home to the newly built Trent Port Marina located at the mouth of the Trent Severn Waterway.
Purpose and Scope:The Superintendent of Wastewater Treatment is the Overall Responsible Operator (ORO) as prescribed in Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP) Regulation and is accountable for providing direction and instruction in the general operation and maintenance of the wastewater treatment systems.
Education & Work Experience Requirements:A minimum of a three (3) year College Diploma in Environmental Engineering Technology or a related field is required. The successful candidate must hold a valid certification/licence in Class III Wastewater Treatment and Class II Wastewater Collection.
A minimum of five (5) years of progressive municipal experience directly related to wastewater treatment is required for the position. Experience in water treatment would be considered an asset to the position. The incumbent must have proven experience in a supervisory role as well as a progressive and responsible understanding of and experience in municipal water and wastewater systems.
The position also requires a valid G Driver’s Licence with a clean drivers abstract.
Remuneration:2019 Non-Union Band 9 – $87,867.00 – $97, 630.76
