Richmond Hill Council is seeking applications for the appointment of a new Integrity Commissioner on a contract for services basis. Every Ontario municipality is required by the Municipal Act, 2001 (“Act”) to appoint an Integrity Commissioner. The Integrity Commissioner is responsible for administering the City’s Council Code of Conduct including providing impartial, third party, professional advice to Council and responding to any compliance issues and matters relating to their ethical responsibilities and obligations under the Code. The Integrity Commissioner is an independent accountability officer given authority under the Act and the Municipal Conflict of Interest Act and is therefore not an employee of the City.
