Here is your opportunity to develop the overall total rewards strategy for the City of Ottawa as the Manager, Total Rewards.

 

Reporting to the Director, Human Resources Services, the Manager, Total Rewards is responsible for managing, evaluating, and improving the Total Rewards plans, guidelines, programs, and services designed to attract, motivate, retain, and engage employees at the City. This role includes developing a compelling employee value proposition and employer brand to attract and retain inspired and energized employees who achieve results. The Manager creates a compensation strategy, designs the benefits plan, and ensures organizational design and job evaluation processes promote internal equity and pay equity compliance. Ensuring employee recognition and wellness strategies are improving engagement and well-being is essential in this role. The Manager oversees contracted services, ensures consistency and integration of plans within collective agreements, and provides advice and expertise to partners and senior leaders across the organization.

 

The ideal candidate holds a university degree and has at least seven years of related experience, five of which are in a management capacity. You have developed and implemented comprehensive total rewards strategies and programs in a diverse and unionized workplace. You are well versed in using data analytics to understand the workforce and employee preferences and demonstrate the ability to manage at both the tactical and strategic levels in a complex environment. You are collaborative and able to build effective partnerships across an organization. The City is looking for a strategic leader who fosters innovation and change while engaging employees in the process.
