Position Title: Customer Service and Administrative Assistant 

Reports To: Director of Infrastructure Services 

Under the direction of the Director of Infrastructure Services, coordinates and performs a variety of skilled functions; provides customer service support to the public and administrative support to the Director of Infrastructure Services. The incumbent will prepare correspondence, reports, and other documentation; update and maintain records and files; order supplies; respond to inquiries and complaints; and performs other related duties as assigned.

This position is responsible for all administrative duties for the Roads Department, performing confidential administrative and clerical tasks for the Director of Infrastructure Services and providing assistance to the Roads Foreman. This person has the ability to solve problems in office procedures and assists in accomplishing routine business. The employee is required to have thorough knowledge of department rules, policies and procedures, and is responsible for applying this knowledge independently when dealing with the public and employees of the department. The Administrative Assistant is also responsible for processing and completing monthly and quarterly reports. 

Position RequirementsEducation 

  • Completion of a post-secondary diploma or degree in a relevant field.


  • 3-5 years of related municipal experience or combination of experience and relevant education.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Great organizational and communication skills.

Working Conditions and EnvironmentThe successful incumbent shall work at the main Town office, located at 5684 Trafalgar Road in Hillsburgh, Ontario.

  • Normal office hours are 8:30am-4:30pm, Monday through Friday.
