The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the Manager, Legislative Services the FOI Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and processing of all FOI requests for information made in accordance with the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA) and Corporate Procedures.

This position will facilitate staff training related to the Corporate Records Management Program and MFIPPA.  The FOI Coordinator will collaborate with division staff to audit existing records and processes to ensure compliance with the provisions of MFIPPA and identify potential privacy risks and make suggestions for improvements. Additionally, the FOI Coordinator will act as a resource to all Town departments on the interpretation of MFIPPA and related issues regarding corporate records.

This individual will create the annual report for the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario and assist the Supervisor with other reporting, as required.

The Ideal Candidate

We are seeking an enthusiastic professional with a post-secondary degree/diploma in Business Administration, Library Science or closely related field. Our ideal candidate has a minimum of 2 years related experience in municipal government with a demonstrated understanding of legislation and processes related to Records Management, FOI Requests and MFIPPA. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills with superior attention to detail who demonstrates customer service excellence that reflects Caledon’s quality standards and possesses excellent interpersonal skills.

This position offers a salary range of $63,402.69 – $74,358.93 plus a competitive benefit package.
